MUSHROOM HUNTING

We keep a log of all our mushroom hunts. Below you will find an ever expanding list of mushrooms we have found in different seasons of the year in South Carolina.

Lots of pictures and descriptions of mushrooms below are accompanied by mini-videos. They provide useful, fun tips you will not find in a field guide. We continuously keep adding new ones, so don't forget to come back.

CAUTION: Please DO NOT use this website as a Field Guide. Mushroom Mountain offers hunting classes. Click here to find out more. We never taste any mushrooms we collect, until we are absolutely positive, without a doubt that the mushrooms are safe. See videos below for hints. Safety always comes first. It takes years to develop this kind of confidence.
